By being demanding and original, traditional and creative, Leinua has always supported a contemporary, living Basque dance.

Made up of about forty experienced dancers and musicians, the Leinua company has performed in many regions of France and all around the world. (South Korea, Canada, the Netherlands, Wales, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain…) The company has also been chosen to demonstrate Basque choreographic art in several events combining different aspects of Basque culture and sport, (the arenas of Bayonne and Dax, Bayonne Sports Centre, Toulouse Sports Centre, the Zenith in Toulouse...) In 2001, selected to represent France at the IV Jeux de la Francophonie (Games of the French speaking world), which brought together the best young athletes and performers from fifty countries, Leinua had the pleasure of qualifying for the final at the National Arts Centre of Ottawa in Canada.

The Leinua company is subsidised by the villages of Saint-Pierre d'Irube, Villefranque and Mouguerre. It is supported by the Basque Cultural Institute, the Federation of Basque Dancing Euskal Dantzarien Biltzarra and the Conseil Général des Pyrénées-Atlantiques.
